Golden Boot winner Erling Haaland just started his second Premier League season by scoring two goals in the Burnley vs Man City match.
The 3-0 win also opened Manchester City’s title defense in the EPL.
The Norway striker presented clinical finishes in the fourth and 36th minutes as City got a comfortable victory against Burnley.
Burnley, managed by City legend Vincent Kompany, is back in England’s top division after winning the Championship last season.
Defensive midfielder Rodri scored the third goal for Man City.
Haaland experienced a memorable first year at Manchester City as he scored 52 goals in all competitions, including 36 in the Premier League.
As a result, Guardiola’s team became the second England club to win a treble: league, FA Cup, and Champions League.
The Norway star also scored two goals in the first match last season at West Ham, just like he did yesterday at Turf Moor.
However, Guardiola still didn’t seem satisfied as he flicked away a camera when they walked toward the tunnel at halftime.
Manchester City still got bad news, though, as their captain Kevin De Bruyne only played for 23 minutes due to a hamstring problem.
After all, fans should feel relieved about Haaland’s brace in the Premier League since he didn’t score in his last six matches, including the loss to Arsenal in the Community Shield.
