In his fifth NBA match, Victor Wembanyama dropped 38 points, 10 rebounds, and two blocks, as San Antonio Spurs beat Phoenix Suns 132-121.
The clash on Thursday was the second matchup between the Suns and the Spurs this week.
In the first match, Gregg Popovich’s squad also came away with the victory by winning it on a last-second shot.
However, the formula of the second game was completely different.
The Spurs outscored the Suns by 19 in the first quarter and went into the break up to 75-55.
Phoenix tried their best to mount a comeback, thanks to their superstar duo of Kevin Durant and Devin Booker.
The Suns managed to knot it up at 116 with just over four minutes left in the last quarter.
But San Antonio created a 12-0 run, 10 of which came from Wembanyama.
Wemby, the No. 1 overall pick, was dominant by shooting 15-for-26 from the field.
He also controlled the paint on the offensive side by taking advantage of smaller opponents in the post.
Kevin Durant, 2014 NBA MVP, praised the rookie and told reporters that the NBA has never seen anyone like Victor Wembanyama.
Durant scored 28 points while Booker got 31 points, 13 assists, and nine rebounds.
After winning the match, the Spurs improved to 3-2 while the Suns dropped to 2-3.
After all, Phoenix is still without All-Star guard Bradley Beal due to a back injury.
