After winning a penalty shootout victory in the Nigeria vs South Africa match, Nigeria booked their place in the Africa Cup of Nations final.

It will become the Super Eagles’ first AFCON final match since 2013. After a slow first half, Nigeria took the lead when William Troost-Ekong fired home from the spot in the 67th minute of the game.

Victor Osimhen was brought down and the referee awarded the penalty to Nigeria. Nigeria thought they had doubled the lead in the final minutes of regular time when Osimhen slammed home in the 84thminute.
