Leave the World Behind follows Amanda Sandford (Julia Roberts) and Clay Sandford (Ethan Hawke) in a Netflix apocalyptic thriller.

Sandford family, along with their children Rose (Farrah Mackenzie) and Archie (Charlie Evans), are on a beach gateway.

Then G.H. Scott (Mahershala Ali), the owner of the big house the Sandfords rent, comes home with his daughter to escape the mysterious chaos in the city.

Both families are forced to survive under the same roof as apocalyptic events occur, including herds of deer filling into the backyard.

The luxurious home becomes a safe place as the outside world crumbles. Increasingly strange things happen as Archie’s teeth mysteriously fall out.

To help Archie, Scott and Clay drive out to meet conspiracy theorist Danny (Kevin Bacon). Danny decides that both families need to stay in the bunker in his neighbor’s house to survive.

Leave the World Behind is adapted from Rumaan Alam’s acclaimed novel, the story is set against apocalyptic days.

Technology - like the internet, Wi-Fi, and TV - has gone silent because of a cyberattack and there is a massive blackout.

The story is brilliantly directed by Sam Esmail (Mr. Robot) as the camera often soars through glass cracks or parks itself at strange angels.

But you need to understand that the open-ended ending of Leave the World Behind may divide viewers.
