The Indiana Pacers and Los Angeles Lakers will meet in the inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament final at the T-Mobile Era in Las Vegas.

After trashing the New Orleans Pelicans by 44 points in the semifinal, the Lakers became the betting favorites to lift the NBA Cup.

However, the Pacers showed that their powerful offense is capable of giving problems to many teams.

The young team defeated the Milwaukee Bucks and Giannis Antetokounmpo 128-119 in the semifinal.

They also beat the NBA-champions-favorite the Boston Celtics in the quarter-final. Saturday’s final will feature a matchup of two teams at different ends of the aging spectrum.

The 38-year-old Lebron James carries the Lakers and reminds us of how dangerous he still is in big games.

Meanwhile, for the 23-year-old All-Star Tyrese Haliburton, this run has been a national introduction for him and the Pacers.

Haliburton had 27 points, 15 assists, and seven rebounds in the semifinal game against the Bucks.

Experts said the Pacers have the best offense in the league at the moment.

But the Lakers are a good defensive team as only six teams have conceded fewer points per possession this season.

Saturday’s game will decide which team will be the winner of the first NBA In-Season Tournament.

Unlike the rest of the NBA Cup games, the final won’t count toward either team’s regular season record.
