New York Knicks star guard Jalen Brunson suffered a left knee injury less than a minute into Sunday’s game versus the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Coming off a screen for his first shot, Brunson landed awkwardly and collapsed in pain on the floor. He shot an airball, before dropping to the floor near the 3-point line.

The 27-year-old could make his way to the locker room with assistance. Replays showed Brunson bumped knees with his teammate Isaiah Hartenstein.

After the game, Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau informed that Jalen Brunson has a left knee contusion, along with initial X-rays returning negative results.

It was initially declared as knee soreness, he was questionable to return in the second quarter. Later, Brunson was ultimately ruled out during the third.

Thibodeau didn’t have a specific plan for Brunson’s return as fans felt uncertain about his status moving forward.
