After a strong 70-run victory in the India vs New Zealand match, India booked their place in their first Cricket World Cup final since 2011.

The tournament host successfully maintained their flawless campaign as they ended their group stage matches unbeaten.

India demolished the Netherlands on Sunday and kept the positive form into the knockout stages.

Virat Kohli, the team captain, wrote his name in the record books as he eclipsed Sachin Tendulkar’s most ODI centuries record.

Kohli hit his 50th in the first innings as his team put on 387 runs.

But it was Mohammed Shami who carried on his cool bowler performances as he claimed seven for 57.

Although no other bowler could find a way through New Zealand, Shami took a wicket with his first ball.

Later, he was brought back on the break of the partnership between Kane Williamson and Daryl Mitchell.

Mitchell struck 117 and tried to lead New Zealand by producing impressive innings while battling against cramp.

However, New Zealand couldn’t make it.

After the India vs New Zealand match, the host will wait the second semifinal between South Africa and Australia to find out their opponents for the Cricket World Cup final in Ahmedabad on 19 November.
