Father of Tennessee Titans Player Caleb Farley Killed in House Explosion

The father of Caleb Farley, the Tennessee Titans player, was killed when an explosion occurred in a North Carolina home Farley owned.

The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office explained in a news release that the blast killed Robert Matthew Farley, 61.

However, no foul is suspected from the blast at the home in Mooresville.

The director of fire services and emergency management Kent Greene told reporters that they are looking into an issue of natural gas.

Greene also said that another person, described as Caleb Farley’s friend, was injured.

Fire officials found him when they arrived, but his injuries weren’t classified as life-threatening ones.

The body of Robert Farley was found around 4:30 am in the wreckage.

The news section of the Titans’ website also broadcasted the news, including information about Farley’s mother, Robin Farley, who died of breast cancer in 2018.

Dominion Energy, a utility company, said it continued to work with emergency officials and said its condolences to all those affected.

Mike Vrabel, Titans head coach, said the team’s thoughts are with Farley and his family.

In the meantime, the cause of the explosions is still under investigation.

Mooresville is a town about 25 miles north of Charlotte with around 50,000 residents.
