Amazon.com is staying put on pricing for Amazon Music despite the increased subscription cost of Apple Music and Spotify platforms.

The e-commerce giant has a music-streaming platform Amazon Music Unlimited that costs $8.99/month for Prime members and $9.99/month for non-members.

The package also offers a single-device plan that can be accessed via a sole Echo unit at $4.99/month

After all, the $9.99 price point should give a significant advantage in this competitive streaming market.

Steve Boom, the VP of Amazon Music, indicated that Amazon.com will hold off raising prices for its music-streaming service.

However, Amazon is always looking for the right price point for its customers.

Therefore, it’s still possible to increase its subscription prices just like Spotify and Apple Music recently did.

In the meantime, the Head of Spotify, Daniel Ek, confirmed his company will rise its service price in 2023.

Spotify has around 195 million paid users per September this year; meanwhile, Apple Music gets second place with 78 million paid subscribers.

Besides the pricing war, Boom also explained the emergence of non-fungible tokens (NFT) in the business.

Boom and Amazon don’t worry too much about the NFT expansion and will handle it as other matters.

But Amazon Music and Amazon.com believe NFT gives more opportunities for artists to engage more directly with their fans.
