On a rainy Sunday at Paycor Stadium, the Pittsburgh Steelers got a 16-10 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in a critical AFC North game.
The win also spoiled Bengals quarterback Jack Browning’s first NFL start to replace the club’s star Joe Burrow.
The Steelers’ defense pressured Browning with four sacks and he finished with 227 yards.
His 96.2 passer rating was pretty solid but it wasn’t good enough for Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett.
Pickett converted eight of 16 to produce 278 yards for the second most of his career.
The Bengals cut the lead to 16-10 after Evan McPherson gave a 47-yard field goal, but Pittsburgh covered the ensuing on-side kick.
When Cincinnati led 7-3 against the Steelers, they had a great shot for huge points.
Besides Reich, Carolina also parted ways with quarterbacks coach Josh McCown and assistant head coach/running back coach Duce Staley.
However, Trenton Thompson was out there to cut the route for Browning’s first NFL interception.
Besides, third-year Pat Freiermuth showed he was an important piece to the Steelers’s offense.
He caught nine passes for 120 yards and Pittsburgh defense enveloped Cincinnati’s offense.
The Steelers gained 421 yards, compared to 222 for the Bengals. The 5-6 Cincinnati Bengals will continue to play without their star Joe Burrow against the Jacksonville Jaguars next week.
