Jared Goff, Detroit’s veteran quarterback, led the Detroit Lions to a tight 31-26 comeback win against the Chicago Bears at Ford Field.

Goff went 23-for-35 for 236 yards and two touchdowns on Sunday.

He explained that the Lions didn’t play well enough for about three and a half quarters, but still managed to find a way at the end.

Detroit is now 8-2 for the first time since 1962 after the nail-bitting win

They were trailing 26-14 with 4:15 remaining in the game and, according to ESPN Analytics, the Chicago Bears had a 98.2% chance to win at that moment.

However, Goff produced two touchdown drives, even while playing through boos from fans at one point.

He connected with receiver Jameson Williams for a 32-yard touchdown pass with 2:59 remaining in the game.

Besides, Goff went 10-for-12 for 115 yards on the Lions’ final two drives.

Finally, Detroit capped the victory with a 1-yard touchdown by running back David Montgomery with 29 seconds left.

The action was also followed by a two-point conversion catch by rookie Sam LaPorta.

It was the first win by a team this season when trailing by 10 or more in the final four minutes.

Before the Detroit Lions’ heroic match, teams were 0-83 in that scenario entering Sunday.
